Hello! I’m Tessy, the editor behind the page. You might be wondering why you should work with me. I want to put your mind at ease and make sure I’m the best fit for you and your project. So, here are some reasons why you might choose to work with me:

• I’ve taken multiple courses in developmental editing, proofreading, and creative writing. I also continue to take courses to improve my skills so that I can better help my clients with their stories.

• I have been critiquing and editing manuscripts for over 8 years, and I’ve been doing it professionally since 2021.

•I have a great eye for detail. It’s incredibly important that your editor is able to catch not only the big things but also the minute details. Being able to do this is something I take pride in as it helps me to help you bring your story to the next level.

•I always offer a free sample edit! I want my clients to be sure that I am the right fit for them. So, I offer a sample edit that is proportionate to the size of your manuscript. If we decide to work together, I will create a custom quote that fits the needs of your book.

•I consider book editing a partnership between the author and the editor. This is your book, and I will always strive to keep your vision in mind as I make critiques and edits. For this reason, I am always available for questions, concerns, and idea bouncing via email. This applies before, during, and after the edit.

•As an author myself, it is important to me to be as thorough as possible when working on your story. It is what I would want out of my editor, and I strive to do the same for you. I will always provide you with constructive, actionable feedback that also uplifts and encourages you through the writing and revision process.

Editorial contracts will be provided once we decide we’re the right fit for each other. A non-refundable 25% deposit is required at the time of booking. If you need to reschedule, please notify me 15 days in advance. The deposit will transfer to the new booking date.
